Saturday, the 15th of October 2016 saw "The Shotgun WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Classic" returning again for the Eigth consecutive year. This was indeed something unique and special in the Big Pasture with the CLASSIC taking place on a two-match weekend! Texita Draw out-shot everyone and led the way to "Glory" with the double-barrel shotgun. On Six (6) stages there was an occasional bonus, but mostly just hits and misses on a great multitude of targets (birds, pop-ups, the infamous squirrel knockdowns and the equally legendary "shot-gunned bottles" and exploding targets!!).....Guess what? NO ONE CLEANED IT!! This was however a Hoot.....and the Winners of each class RECEIVED SOMETHING UNUSUAL!! Overall was "Texita Draw", with "Razorback" taking the Outlaw Honors and "Redleg" leading the '97 Pumpers. This just means that maybe RB Rooson (who was tied up in a Wisconsin Shoot) may have to return in 2017 in order to bring sanity back to the whole event! Stay turned to the web-site for next year's (2017) Stage Information. The Great Shotgun Shootout Past Winners -

The above Coach Shotgun is a 19" Gentry Tri-Star in 12 gauge that was modified from a 28" proper shotgun. It has a single, selective trigger and is engraved on both sides of the breech. Light weight and easy to swing up on target, it is valued at approximately $450.00 and at the high-end of a typical CAS shotgun. Many IGA (Stoeger) and Russian Baikal shotguns run in the $300.00 range and Hammered Chinese replicas are abit less in the $200.00 price category. 12 and 20 gauge are the most commonly used.
